Welcome to the 2016 holiday update with the Pao’s! An exciting year indeed with moving to Seattle!

Stephen: Now with Igneous Systems in Seattle and off the charts happy. Who knew what a two block commute could do? Remains the only family member to play Pokémon Go!

Marsha: Still adjusting to urban living, but very much a fan. She is perplexed by the weight of groceries when carried via backpack and bags. Suddenly, everything feels like cement. Refuses wheeley technology … preferring to real man it. (and complain afterwards)

Christina: Now a college student at Yale studying Classics and Political Science. Over-subscribes her day by joining too many things to list…

Annalisa: The real MVP!!! Switched high schools to drop Stephen’s commute by 843 miles. She attends Garfield High and continues swimming — qualifying for state! Loves Seattle and urban living! Places Mom and Dad on a 6 year program to move out of the condo for her return to Seattle after college. Hmmmm…

The girls cringe at the mention of “holiday video,” so we opted out this year. Instead, we are enjoying our limited time with Christina!

We’ve moved! (Yes, again…) A special thank you to our friends and family in California for making our past ten years filled with laughter and fun! As many of you know, we continue to bounce between the Pacific NW and Bay Area every 5-10 years. And it was time for us to make that pilgrimage back to our roots of the PNW and reconnect with friends and family we left in 2006.

Lots of changes ahead, with Christina having left for college. (Yes, we are those terrible parents sending her off on her own! We did clear it with her though…really.) Annalisa is attending a new high school and losing her main sport of water polo. (not as mainstream here…) But she has her driver’s license and is adjusting well to city driving! Marsha is a bit of a mess as years of suburban living has resulted in several failed back-in parking attempts in the itty bitty garage stalls. Stephen on the other hand gets to wake-up and walk two blocks to work and squeeze in gym battles on Pokémon Go along the way.
